This 5-week course will introduce Virtual Exchange (VE) and Collaborative Online (COIL) International Learning as an approach to internationalize the curriculum and bring students and teaching staff together across borders and countries.
During the course, participants will engage with materials about VE (texts, videos, case studies), work in groups with colleagues from different universities and reflect on the possibilities of VE in their own programs and context. During synchronous interactions and asynchronous tasks, they will plan VE activities and develop practical implementation strategies to integrate international and intercultural dimensions in their teaching (Internationalization at Home).
Objectives
- Learn about VE as one of the Internationalization at Home strategies.
- Discuss and reflect on the VE implementation in the curriculum of their programs and courses.
- Analyse different case studies/practice reports on VE.
- Create a VE Profile to be shared in different contexts.
