Promoting AI Literacy in Higher Education: Simple Strategies for Busy Instructors

Content
How can we prepare our students for a world shaped by artificial intelligence? Many instructors currently feel uncertain — they know that AI is here to stay and that it carries both immense potential and serious risks across all areas of life. And yet the question remains: how can we help students navigate this rapidly evolving landscape with confidence? And since most instructors are still building their own understanding of AI, it’s no wonder that many are also asking: where will I find the time and expertise to support my students in this area?
The good news: promoting AI literacy doesn’t have to be time-consuming or complicated. In this course, we’ll explore how to foster AI literacy in your students in realistic, manageable ways. You’ll work through curated materials and reflection tasks at your own pace (please plan for 3 hours of self-study). These resources will offer fresh perspectives and help you apply the ideas directly to your own teaching. We’ll close with an in-depth live session where you’ll have the chance to discuss challenges, ask questions, and share ideas with colleagues.
Learning Outcomes:
